Learn more about this Small Business Saturday SHOP RI vendor.

The definition of “kindness” and the concept of respect and helping others was the foundation of Favorables, distinctive, hand-made favors.  The signature item is an “intentional act of kindness” favor filled with chocolate kisses.  The idea behind this is that each person is able to make someone’s day, thereby making a difference in the world.

Creative, caring and amusing messages are artistically showcased, reflecting traditional holidays, celebrations and greeting card themes as well as personal sentiments. The treats are equally creative, ranging from chocolate kisses, assorted candy, biscotti and gum, to small gifts and party favors to very distinctive, tubes specially-filled for adults. From work-place -morale boosters to thank you gifts for manicurists, Favorables offers a wide variety of pre-made favors and encourages shoppers’ creativity with do-it-yourself custom orders.

Started by Stephanie Cerep with the help of her mother and her good friend Sara, Stephanie is a “people person” who loves to make others happy. For family, friend or stranger, she is filled with empathy, kindness, and caring. She wants to be financially independent while making other people happy, so a brainstorming session came up with the idea for this new business.Favorables Favors in RI

The website emphasizes that “kindness is contagious and each one of us is able to make a difference, where seemingly small gestures- a smile, a kind word, a helping hand, or a small gift- can make a person’s day and ultimately have a positive impact on the world.”  The product line is unique, hand-made and affordable. The website makes the online shopping process easy and accessible.  Additionally, a portable display enables Favorables to participate in local shows, fairs, and holiday bazars, including the upcoming Small Business Saturday SHOP RI event, November 24th at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.

Focusing on Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Favorables responds to invited calls, emails and texts with an offer “to come to you with a sample box of favors.” In keeping with the mission of spreading kindness and goodwill, Stephanie’s hope is that each recipient of the “intentional act of kindness” favor will refill the favor and pass it on to someone else to make their day. It’s a sweet, and successful, approach to business.
